Terms and Conditions – Morden Tuition Centre (MTC)
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Morden Tuition Centre, hereinafter referred to as the "MTC," and the students and/or their parents/legal guardians, hereinafter referred to as the "Parents" or "Students."
1. Enrolment and Registration
1.1. Parents/Students are required to complete the registration process, including providing accurate and up-to-date information about the student, contact details, and any specific educational requirements.
1.2. MTC reserves the right to accept or reject any application for enrolment.
1.3. A one-off non-refundable admin fee of £50 is also chargeable at the time of registration.
2. Tuition Fees
2.1. Tuition fees must be paid in advance before the commencement of the sessions.
2.2. Once the student is enrolled and initial fees are settled in full, the Parent/Student will receive a monthly invoice on the 1st of each month, payable on receipt.
2.3. Tuition fees are non-refundable once a term or session has commenced, unless otherwise specified in writing.
2.4. If an invoice remains unpaid for 10 days after the due date, a late payment charge of £35 will apply. Continued non-payment may result in suspension or termination of tuition services until all outstanding fees are cleared.
2.5. It is the responsibility of the Parent/Student to check for the invoice every month and to ensure timely payment.
3. Homework
3.1. All homework must be completed and returned by the following lesson.
3.2. Homework submission extensions may be granted upon approval by MTC.
3.3. Where an extension has not been granted, late submissions will not be marked.
4. Attendance and Punctuality
4.1. Students are expected to attend classes regularly and be punctual.
4.2. If a student is unable to attend a class, the Parent/Student should notify MTC in advance.
5. Curriculum and Materials
5.1. MTC will provide a list of learning materials and resources required for each course. Parents must ensure that students are provided with the recommended materials before the commencement of class.
5.2. Parents/Students are expected to follow the prescribed curriculum and use provided materials responsibly.
6. Behaviour and Conduct
6.1. Students must conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner towards teachers, staff, and fellow students.
6.2. MTC reserves the right to suspend or terminate the enrolment of any student who engages in disruptive or inappropriate behaviour.
6.3. Parents/Students must not request, collect, or attempt to obtain tutors’ personal contact details (e.g., phone number, email, or social media). Any such attempt is considered a serious breach of trust and professionalism.
6.4. Parents/Students must not approach or attempt to hire MTC tutors for private tuition outside of MTC. Any such conduct may result in immediate termination of enrolment and possible legal action.
7. Cancellation and Rescheduling
7.1. MTC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient enrolment.
7.2. In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling by MTC, two alternative dates will be offered in the following week, or the session will be made up during the next available holiday period.
7.3. If a teacher is absent or unwell, an alternative session will be offered. No refunds will be made in such cases.
8. Termination
8.1. Parents/Students must provide one month's written notice to cancel tuition. For students enrolled in multiple subjects, the specific subject(s) to be cancelled must be clearly mentioned.
8.2. MTC may terminate enrolment for non-payment of fees, disruptive behaviour, or any breach of these Terms.
9. Notice Periods
9.1. Parents/Students must provide the Centre with a full month's written notice for all changes to their planned attendance.
9.2. Notice must be submitted via email to info@mordentuition.co.uk.
10. Absence
10.1. If a student is absent without giving one month's prior written notice, the Parent/Student will be charged for the missed session.
10.2. A missed session is considered a missed session. MTC is not obliged to offer an alternative class for any absence.
10.3. Alternative sessions may only be arranged if there is availability in another suitable group, and this is strictly at MTC’s discretion.
11. Pick-Up and Drop-Off
11.1. Parents must drop children directly to the reception of MTC.
11.2. Children must also be collected from the reception by a parent or an authorised adult.
11.3. Children will not be released to anyone who has not been previously authorised by the parent.
12. Privacy and Data Protection (GDPR)
12.1. MTC complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
12.2. Personal data is collected solely for educational, administrative, and safeguarding purposes, and will not be shared with any third party without prior consent, unless required by law.
12.3. All records are securely maintained and handled with confidentiality.
12.4. Parents/Students have the right to access their data, request corrections, or request deletion in line with legal and safeguarding requirements.
13. Liability
13.1. MTC is not liable for any personal injuries, accidents, or loss of personal belongings that may occur while on the premises.
14. Safeguarding
14.1. MTC is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all students.
14.2. Any concerns regarding a student’s welfare or safeguarding must be reported immediately to the Centre Manager.
14.3. MTC staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and operate in accordance with statutory guidance.
15. Health and Safety
15.1. Parents must inform MTC of any medical conditions, allergies, or special educational needs at the time of registration or as soon as they become known.
15.2. MTC will not administer medication unless specifically agreed in writing with the parent and supported by medical documentation.
15.3. In case of a medical emergency, MTC will make reasonable efforts to contact the parent immediately. If contact is not possible, MTC may take appropriate action (including calling emergency services) in the best interest of the student.
17. Use of Student Work and Photos
17.1. Occasionally, MTC may use photos or samples of student work for educational or promotional purposes (e.g., displays, website, social media). Parents will be asked to sign a media consent form at registration.
17.2. Parents have the right to withdraw consent at any time by notifying MTC in writing.
18. Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices
18.1. Mobile phone usage is strictly prohibited once a student is on MTC premises. Phones must be switched off and kept in bags at all times.
18.2. If a student is found using a phone during class or within the centre, the device may be confiscated and returned only to the parent.
18.3. MTC is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of mobile phones or electronic devices brought to the centre.
18.1. Students are discouraged from bringing mobile phones or electronic devices to lessons. If brought, devices must remain switched off and kept in bags during sessions. Mobile Phone usage is strictly prohibited once student is on MTC premises.
18.2. MTC is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of any personal electronic items.
19. Allergies and Food Policy
19.1. No nuts or nut-based products are allowed on MTC premises under any circumstances.
19.2. This policy is in place to protect students and staff who may have severe nut allergies.
19.3. Parents must ensure that students do not bring any snacks, lunches, or food items containing nuts.
19.4. MTC reserves the right to confiscate any food items that may pose an allergy risk.
19. Amendments
19.1. MTC reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Parents/Students will be notified of any changes in advance.
By enrolling in the MTC, Parents/Students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and agree to abide by them throughout their enrolment.
